DALLAS, TX – August 2, 2016 – Volunteers, from Dallas-based Associa, devoted their time and efforts on the morning of July 27 to ensure that close to 2,200 kids start the school year with the supplies they need for success.
Seventeen employees from the community management firm’s home office, on behalf of its philanthropic entity Associa Cares, helped load up vehicles with backpacks and supplies donated to Community Partners of Dallas (CPD). Those loaded-up cars and trucks belong to Texas Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworkers who distribute the supplies to kids involved in the program.
“Associa Cares exists so our employees can give back to the community,” said Associa Cares President Andrew Fortin. “It’s not only rewarding to know we are helping out local children, but also to experience the camaraderie that comes with volunteering alongside other members of the Associa family.”
“The Associa volunteers were amazing during our distribution day! They braved the heat and endured the weight of more than 2,000 backpacks that went out to caseworkers in just three short hours,” remarked Community Partners of Dallas Volunteer Manager Sarah Rowland. “Everyone worked incredibly hard and CPD couldn’t have done it without them. We love Associa!”
