Associa, North America’s largest community management services firm, and Houston Community Management Services announce the appointment of John Black, CMCA® to president and CEO.
“John is known for his dedication to providing clients with nothing less than top-of-the-line service,” said J. Matthew Steele, senior vice president for Associa. “His experience with HCMS and its associations is the ideal complement to lead the company’s operations, growth, and exceptional community management services.”
Black joined HCMS more than 10 years ago. Most recently he served as chief financial officer, where he has worked on all client accounting and resale operations for HCMS. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1999. Before joining HCMS, he was an accountant in the commercial construction and development field for five years.
Black also holds the industry designation of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) from the National Board of Certification-Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM). He currently serves on both the local and national committees for Associa Cares, Associa’s national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization created to assist families and communities in crisis as a result of natural and man-made disasters.
