Funds to Assist with Rebuilding Process
Community Association Services of Indiana, an Associa company, with the help of Associa Cares, recently donated funds to two local families who lost their homes in separate disasters.
On February 9, 2011, Robert Norman and his family lost their apartment in a fire. Smoke and flames poured from the building and Indianapolis firefighters battled frigid temperatures and frozen hydrants while trying to fight the blaze. There were no injuries, but the unit was totally destroyed in the fire.
On February 14, 2011, Monteal May and Kevin Donnelly lost their home to a fire. The couple and their three small children were able to escape unharmed, but they lost all of their possessions in the fire.
With the help of Associa Cares, both families will begin the healing and recovery process faster than originally planned.
"While we are truly saddened to learn of these events, we appreciate that Associa Cares continues to work with us to help arrange for this assistance," said Assistant Community Manager and Associa Cares representative Valerie Atwell. "These families were very deserving of the help, and we are thankful for our partnership with the American Red Cross to help us identify area families in need."
The partnership helps refer fire clients to CASI for assistance through its Associa Cares program. As a result of their combined efforts, CASI's Associa Cares program has assisted more than 30 Indianapolis area families in recent months.
