Community Association Services of Indiana, an Associa company, recently coordinated efforts with the American Red Cross to adopt a family for Christmas. The family of seven, including five teenage children, suffered a total loss of their home in October due to a fire. To complicate things further, they presently have only one steady income, making it difficult for them to provide many presents for Christmas.
CASI staff members collected money, shopped, wrapped, and delivered a wide variety of gifts for the family. The most exciting of the gifts was a new Xbox360 complete with three games and two controllers for the entire family.
"One of their wishes was to replace the video game system they lost in the fire, so we had to fulfill that wish," said Assistant Community Manager, Valerie Atwell. "This family was truly deserving of the help, and we are thankful for the partnership with the American Red Cross."
The partnership also helps refer fire clients to CASI for assistance through its Associa Cares program. As a result of their combined efforts, CASI's Associa Cares program has assisted 17 Indianapolis area families this year.
